Privacy Policy

Oppverse ("we", "us") runs oppverse.in, a platform that connects job seekers with mentors and recruiters. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who can see it and the choices you have. It is written in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

We only collect what we need to run the platform:

• Account details: name, email, mobile number and a securely hashed password.
• Profile and education: role, current study status, degree, branch, graduation year, domains of interest, skills, bio, photo, links and resume you choose to add.
• Mentor and recruiter verification: company, designation, experience and the company proof document you upload.
• Activity: bookings, applications, reviews, chat messages and the files you share in chats.
• Payments: wallet balance and transactions, top-up amounts and payment screenshots, and bank/UPI details for withdrawals.
• Technical data: device and browser information, IP address and push-notification subscription (only if you turn notifications on).

• To create your account, verify your email and keep you signed in.
• To match you with relevant mentors and opportunities (for example, using your degree, study stage and domains).
• To run bookings, paid chats, contact unlocks, wallet top-ups, refunds and withdrawals.
• To verify mentors and recruiters before their profiles go live.
• To send OTPs, booking updates, chat alerts and other service notifications.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep the platform secure.

• Mentors see the details of job seekers who book or chat with them.
• Recruiters see the applications, resumes and messages of candidates who apply to their opportunities.
• Job seekers see public mentor and recruiter profiles; a recruiter's direct contact details are shown only after a paid contact unlock.
• Our admin team reviews verification documents, payment proofs and support requests.
• Service providers we rely on — hosting, email delivery and push notifications — process data only to provide those services.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law.

• Passwords and OTPs are stored hashed, never in plain text.
• Chat attachments, company proofs and payment screenshots are private: they open only through secure links that expire after about 2 hours, and only for people allowed to see them.
• Login and OTP requests are rate-limited, and an OTP is cancelled after repeated wrong attempts.
• The site is served over HTTPS.

We keep your data while your account is active. Transaction and payment records may be kept longer where the law requires it (for example, for tax and accounting). When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except what we must keep by law.

You can:

• See and correct your details any time in Profile Settings.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account.
• Withdraw consent — for example, turn off push notifications in your browser or settings.
• Raise a complaint with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember simple preferences such as the theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Oppverse is meant for students and professionals aged 18 or older. If you are under 18, please use the platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
